Full-Service Cookbook Photography
OMS has a full service team on staff to cook/bake, style & prop, shoot, and retouch imagery for cookbooks. Whether virtual or in-person, clients are able to provide direct feedback and make adjustments to shots in real-time. Additionally, we are able to overlay each page's planned layout live to make sure each image fits perfectly for every page.

"Oh what a wonderful group the folks of OMS Photo are! After having shot 3 cookbooks, I am thrilled with each and couldn’t have had nicer experiences. From initial conversations through budget planning, scheduling, shooting, and delivery of photos—the team was on top of every detail, and brought their extreme professionalism and creativity to the table each day. Melissa Mileto is a food stylist extraordinaire and makes all recipes sparkle, while expert photographers Anna Jones and Sarah Hone captured the dishes in the loveliest of light. Shooting a cookbook can be an overwhelming and stressful production, but not with this group. What fun we had—sharing ideas, tweaking the styling (tweaking some more!), until we all came to a collective “yum.” Every cookbook should be so lucky to be photographed by OMS!"

Our Process

Producing a Food Shoot
Our dedicated production team helps you plan for your shoot, finding the perfect food stylist, great props, and of course selecting the right photographer to make it all happen – all while keeping your budgets in check.

Food Styling
At OMS, we know some of the best food stylists in the country. Having the ability to get them to our studios for our clients elevates our photography, and gives our clients something unique. Our food stylists in conjunction with our state of the art photo retouching brings out the best in every shot we take.

Photo Retouching
With an in-house team, retouchers are free to communicate with photographers and clients alike. Before and during shoots, retouchers hear the client’s vision firsthand, discuss the edits needed with the photographer, and often work on initial proofs and mock ups while clients are still on set.

A professional kitchen
Each kitchen has everything a food stylist or chef would need. Ovens, ranges, ample prep areas, refrigerators, freezers, all types of cooking equipment, utensils, and more. Even fryers!
A client work area
Each space has an area for clients, with snacks, beverages, high-speed wi-fi, and access to high-def screens where photographers can show their work in progress. You will actually get work done while we execute your shoot.
A closed set option
Have a product that requires discretion? Each floor is an excellent space for privacy. We can lock the doors, draw the curtains, and have only designated people enter. The entire OMS staff has signed a non-disclosure agreement for all clients that work with us. Just let us know in advance if this is something you need.
