OMS for The North Face

WHY OMS?

At OMS, we’re not here to build our portfolios or make a name for ourselves— we've already done that. We’re here to help elevate our clients brand. Our team of in-house experts, each averaging over 10 years of experience, specializes in outdoor apparel photography and our focus is always on your objectives. We believe in collaboration, where every voice on set matters, and we remain agile, making real-time adjustments to ensure the best possible outcome. This adaptability is why our clients have trusted us for over 30 years.

We’re already part of your ecosystem, proudly working with your sister company, Smartwool. We understand your brand, your audience, and the demands of the outdoor industry better than anyone. That’s why we’re the best in the space.

At OMS, we take an all-in approach to large-scale shoots. When you work with us, your brand is our sole focus—we schedule intentionally so that you have our team's undivided attention. You’re not just another client on a checklist; you’re a partner. And we go above and beyond to exceed expectations.

We’d love the opportunity to bring that same dedication to The North Face.

 Let’s make something great together.

OMS High-Volume Apparel Workflow

With over 30 years of experience in high-volume apparel photography, OMS has developed a streamlined, scalable system tailored to each client’s needs. Our customizable OMS QuickBase system tracks products from check-in through prep, steaming, photography, retouching, file delivery, and return shipping.

Step-by-Step Process

Pre-Production

  • Client provides a spreadsheet with image requirements, metadata, item names, numbers, and UPCs.
  • The producer reviews the shot list and schedules pre-production and shoot dates.
  • Items are shipped to OMS at least two weeks before the shoot, with shipping details provided by the client.
  • The spreadsheet is entered into QuickBase for seamless tracking.
  • Products are checked in, placed on labeled racks, and prepped for steaming.
  • Wardrobe is categorized by model, and the stylist collaborates with the client on outfit pairings.
  • A pre-production meeting aligns the crew on style guidelines, posing, and brand preferences.
  • Talent Casting
  • Client provides model requirements based on sample sizing.
  • The producer sources talent from local agencies and schedules in-person fit casting (client participation encouraged).
  • Talent selections are finalized, and models are booked (two per shoot day).

Production

  • An OMS producer oversees production, ensuring all shoot elements align with client expectations.
  • The crew works efficiently to capture all wardrobe items, tracking each piece in QuickBase.
  • The same crew is booked for consistency, with the exception of the wardrobe stylist.

Post-Production

  • Images are shared via PhotoShelter for client selects, either on-set or post-shoot.
  • Selected images go through Ziflow for retouching feedback.
  • Final edits are completed to client specifications, with metadata added as needed.
  • Approved assets are delivered via FTP or WeTransfer.
  • Items are returned to the client exactly as received, with tracking for each shipment.

Each stage is fully visible in QuickBase, allowing clients to track product progress and preview item thumbnails.
