Artist Statement 

Many photographs of women are intended to capture beauty and, by default, make us feel alluring. My work is not about desirability. It is a rebellious act against it. I want to remove the internal fear of looking bad in a photograph of women. For a brief second, I want you to experience the liberation of letting your guard down. Shoulding to the world, "It is what it is!" when confronted with an image of yourself you dislike. On my journey with self-portraiture, I have found this acceptance more liberating than I can put into words. It has brought me a refreshing level of self-awareness and authenticity. I hope to share this convenience with other women.
