01 The Brief

Gear built to disappear into a bag. eCommerce photography built to make it stand out.

Matador's products are designed around a simple idea: pack more, carry less. That makes them a uniquely difficult subject to photograph. The imagery has to communicate scale and portability at the same time as durability and design detail, without the product ever being in its most flattering state, fully packed away.

OMS Photography was brought in to raise the bar on Matador's eCommerce photography specifically, consistent product angles, true-to-life color, and clean detail work built to perform across every retail and DTC listing. The results were strong enough that Matador used the new library as the visual foundation for a full update of their website, not just the product pages.

02 Our Approach

eCommerce-first. Built to carry a full site redesign.

OMS paired precise studio photography with on-location lifestyle imagery, built from the ground up around eCommerce standards, consistent framing, lighting, and retouching across every SKU. That consistency gave Matador's team a library that worked as hard on a product listing as it did across their newly updated website.

Phase 01 — Pre-Production
Shot planning for studio and lifestyle content
OMS developed a shot list balancing clean studio product photography with lifestyle imagery built to show Matador's gear in real travel and outdoor use.
Phase 02 — Studio Capture
Product and detail photography
Precise studio photography captured Matador's gear from every angle, with close attention to the materials and construction details that set the brand apart.
Phase 03 — Lifestyle Capture
Gear shown in motion
Lifestyle photography placed Matador's products in the travel and outdoor contexts they're designed for, giving the brand imagery with energy and real-world credibility.
Phase 04 — Retouching and Delivery
Sharp, brand-consistent final assets
All imagery was retouched in-house by OMS's dedicated team, delivering a consistent, polished library ready for eCommerce, campaign, and social use.

03 The Work

An eCommerce library that became a website refresh.

The final library spans clean eCommerce hero shots, close-up detail work, and lifestyle imagery. What started as an eCommerce photography upgrade gave Matador's team the visual consistency to update product pages, category pages, and their homepage as part of a full website refresh.

04 The Results

A gear library built for every touchpoint.
