Water Buffalo makes gear built for the outdoors, and their photography needed to reflect that -- both with precision product shots and real-world lifestyle imagery. OMS Photography produced a comprehensive visual library for Water Buffalo out of our Golden, CO studio, combining controlled in-studio product capture with on-location shooting in Colorado's natural terrain.
01 — The Brief
Studio Precision. Colorado Terrain.
Water Buffalo needed a visual library that could serve two distinct purposes: clean, eCommerce-ready product photography that showed their gear at its best, and authentic lifestyle imagery that placed those products in the environments they were built for. That meant shooting both inside our Golden, CO studio and out on location in the Colorado landscape that sits right on our doorstep.
Our Golden studio's location is a genuine advantage for outdoor brands -- within minutes we can go from a controlled tabletop setup to rugged terrain, trails, and mountain backdrops. For Water Buffalo, that proximity meant we could capture the full visual range a modern outdoor brand needs without compromising production quality on either end.

Phase 01
Studio Product Capture
Water Buffalo's products were photographed in our Golden studio with precision lighting to highlight material detail, construction quality, and design. Clean backgrounds and controlled setups gave the brand eCommerce-ready assets that work across retailer platforms and their own DTC storefront.
Phase 02
On-Location Lifestyle Shoot
We took the shoot outside into Colorado's natural environment -- trails, terrain, and open landscape that put Water Buffalo's gear in the context it was designed for. On-model lifestyle photography captured real movement and real conditions, giving the brand authentic imagery for campaigns and social media.
Phase 03
Golden, CO Advantage
