Photographing Speedway’s Golf Outing For Children’s Miracle Network

For 8 years running, OMS Photo has had the privilege of participating in Speedway’s annual golf outing benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network. This year, three of our photographers contributed to the event to help raise funds for this amazing organization.

More than 10 million kids enter a children’s hospital across North America every year. To fully cover the cost of care, many of these children rely on donations from their communities to overcome gaps in coverage.

The golf outing was located at the beautiful NCR Country Club near Dayton, Ohio and played over a two day period. It may have been rainy over those days, but that didn’t stop anyone from having fun.

A major feature of the event is taking portraits of the kids who are hospital ambassadors. The images help promote this cause and raise funds for the networks.

Our photographer Matt Witherspoon has been taking portraits of the ambassadors and their families every year, but this year he shared the fun with fellow shooter Jake Anderson. This team was an excellent duo, keeping the shoot upbeat and full of laughter.

It is always inspiring to work with these kids and their families. The wonderfully supportive nature of the event reminded us of the importance of giving back to our communities.

While portraits were going on, our photographer TJ Vissing bought a place in the golf tournament as a donation and was out there enjoying the day. Participating with his friends from the local agency Bloom Creative Group, they all had a good time at the event.

At the end of the first day, we moved the shooting equipment to the nearby Nutter Center stadium at Wright State University. There we set up a group shot to get all the ambassadors together and document the dinner.

The group photo was a joyful time working with all the kids and getting them ready on a stage. Jake even put on a pink flamingo hat to help keep the kids focused on the camera. During this time, Miss America and Jack Nicklaus made appearances at the event. To finish off the day, there was a fundraiser dinner for the cause.

If you only give once a year, think of the Children’s Miracle Network and the amazing work they are doing.
