OMS Photo Participates in Our 10th Speedway Miracle Tournament
This year marks the 10th year OMS Photo participated in and photographed the annual Speedway Miracle Tournament benefiting Children’s Miracle Network. Located at the beautiful NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio, OMS Photo partners with Bloom Creative Group, Speedway, 7-11, and the Children’s Miracle Network to bring our photographers for portrait sessions of each Miracle Child and their families.
OMS Photo brought along two of our photographers – Sarah Hone & Matt Witherspoon. Matt has been involved in this event since OMS first began taking portraits and it’s one of his favorite events of the year.
“For the past 10 years, my favorite project each and every year is working with the annual Speedway Miracle Tournament. Our role is to bring joyful faces to life of children with life altering conditions. Our imagery promotes fundraising for a most worthy cause. Spending two days surrounded by fun filled laughter, heartwarming hugs and supporting loving families, makes this project a very rewarding experience.”

This was Sarah’s first time at the event as there were more kids than ever participating.
“It was a privilege to capture the joy all of the children radiate back into the world even after enduring so many hardships. These photographs represent faces of hope to other children in similar circumstances. Every interaction I had melted my heart a little more.”

The annual Speedway Miracle Tournament was created to raise funds to help children’s hospitals advance pediatric healthcare by providing critical lifesaving equipment and resources to help treat sick children, which in turn puts kids’ and families’ at ease during incredibly difficult, long-term hospital stays and financial assistance who otherwise cannot afford health services.
This year’s 31st Annual Speedway Miracle Tournament had over 650 golfers participating in the event and 50 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the US sent a child representative and their family to the event.
While Matt & Sarah were photographing, TJ Vissing was participating in the tournament despite the piercing 98° heat! We were planning on him golfing an 18 with 18 consecutive hole-in-ones, but it’s okay, TJ. You did your best!
Every Miracle Child is treated like royalty with hair, make up, and a glamorous photo shoot. The kids enjoy being front and center and especially getting photos taken with their hospital representatives that travel with them to the event.
